Chilliwack Engine & Auto Repair was started by Manfred Preuss in 1982. The first shop operated out of the Husky Station on Luckakuk Way. After a year and a half of successful business and a large clientele that trusted Manfred’s expert abilities and honest diagnosis’ the 2 bay Husky location had become too small for Chilliwack Engine.

Manfred and his wife Kathy moved the shop across the street to a much larger 6 bay location. The husband and wife team ran Chilliwack Engine & Auto Repair from this location for 3 years. Many more solid relationships were built with members of the community and the business continued to grow. When it came time to re-new the lease the building manager proposed a large rent increase that would have forced Manfred and Kathy to raise their prices. Unhappy with not being in control of their situation and a desire to be closer to their three children, Manfred and Kathy decided to buy a house with a property large enough to build their own shop. Thus still being able to offer their customers excellent service for a great price as well as having their family closer.

This is the current 8050 Atchelitz Rd. location that Chilliwack Engine & Auto Repair has operated from since 1993.
